On the other hand, if you plan on eating at average to very upscale restaurants then an all inclusive package could be the way to go. It really depends on a few things. Will it be fast food for breakfast and lunch then a nice meal at an average to upscale restaurant for dinner? If the answer is yes, then it all depends on the price of each particular all inclusive package. If you plan on eating at least two meals at the average to upscale restaurants then I would suggest an all inclusive package.

They should also think about accommodations. While most packages include a hotel, you can do some research on your own and find a great vacation home for rent during your spring break trip.
I know what your thinking, vacation homes are much more expensive that your average hotel room. How is a college student going to afford a spring break package that includes a rental home instead of a hotel room. You would be surprised how affordable they can be.
The key is numbers. Spring break trips usually consist of large groups traveling to the same destination. Chances are your traveling with eight or more of your friends. Most hotel rooms only allow four people in each room, it's a fire law. This will force your group to get two rooms, four in each. You can usually put all eight people in a rental home. Yes it's going to be more expensive, but the price is split eight ways instead of four ways.
Lets talk food for a moment. If you choose this option you may want to hit the grocery store on your way to the rental home. Hotels often have restaurants in them or nearby, but vacation homes can be further away from restaurants. Also, neighbors my be prone to call the police if it gets loud and rowdy next door. Keeping the party under control could save you from dealing with "the knock" at the door.
Do a little more research and try a vacation home for your spring break trips in 2009, you will be glad you did.
